Artist's Comments
The Ganta is a theoretical Aquatic Mammal that enjoys basking in waterfalls to cool its bare skin. Ganta's are very protective of their young and it is often rare for an onlooker to see them unguarded, females are the care-givers, while the males are gatherers. The web of skin from the Ganta's pelvis to its front legs is used for swimming, diving, and short distance gliding. The older the male Ganta the longer the curled horn on their head becomes. They tend to dwell in tropical waterfall basins and collect food by swimming down river to calmer waters. Gantas are omnivores that feed on both small fish and foliage.
